THE IDEA FOR THE STUDIO CAME TO ME ON A BEACH TRIP IN 2007…
I wanted a structure to run my photography business from and I knew I could create any space into what I was looking for; I just needed to figure out what that space would be. It turned out the two old grain bins that existed in my family’s pecan orchid would be the perfect fit!
As soon as I returned home from the beach, my dad, my cousin, Chip, and I got to work on transforming the bins to form Abby Caroline Photography studio! Although I love to take pictures around the studio, I happily travel and especially love trips to the Florida panhandle for beach portraits!
I have always loved photography and taking pictures. Growing up my dad enjoyed photographing my sister and me with his film camera.
I have always loved photography and taking pictures. Growing up my dad enjoyed photographing my sister and me with his film camera. Those photos are some of my most treasured possessions from childhood and I think part of what excited me about photography. I received my first camera at 16 for my birthday, a Minolta film camera. I loved taking photos and exploring with it. I took photography and art classes all through high school and then when it was time to go to college I enrolled in Mercer University as a business major and art minor.
After only two short years, I decided photography was my passion and what I was called to do. I met with a successful photographer in North GA and decided to take his advice and go get my commercial photography degree! I completed the program and graduated from Gwinnett Tech in 2006. After graduation I moved back to South GA to start my own studio. I have been working full time as a professional photographer for the last ten years. My style photography is very relaxed and HAPPY! It brings me such JOY to be a photographer and I hope to show that through my work.
I have to say, I could not have made this business work with out the help of Team MIMS! I take great pride in the fact that I get to work with my parents daily. Both are retired from their careers and play a pivotal role at Abby Caroline Photography.
Craig AKA “Mr. G”
Lol well.. that is a long story, but Dad as I call him, is my right hand man. He assists me on photo shoots as well as playing the roll of second shooter for the occasional wedding we photograph. Not to mention he also is our handyman extraordinaire!
Head of all things office! I couldn’t list them all if I tried. If you call the studio, you will likely get Susan on the other end. My sweet mom also handles a lot of the unpacking and packaging products as well deliveries to clients.
